- These scholarships include Academic Scholarships and UW Undergraduate Academic Excellence Awards (more info on website)
- For students who are not residents of Washington state (including US citizens, permanent residents, refugees, and undocumented residents) only — The Purple and Gold Scholarship
- Fill out the FAFSA to apply by January 15th for the upcoming school year for priority aid consideration.
- If you are ineligible for the FAFSA because of immigration status, fill out the WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) instead.
- FAFSA/WAFSA applications open Oct 1.
- Award notices are sent out in the spring and continue through summer. Be sure to check your UW email and MyUW regularly!
- Freshman scholarship
- $10K/year for 4 years to high-achieving high-need students from communities that are traditionally underserved in education
- To be considered, students are encouraged to file the FAFSA/WASFA by Oct 1
- Must apply before Jan 15, eligible students will be notified in March
Husky Promise
- Eligibility
- All 3 campuses, Washington State residents, those who meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility *undocumented students can still apply through WASFA
- limited to 12 quarters of eligibility (e.g. 3 quarters per year, 4 years)
- must be enrolled full time (12 credits or more)
- be pursuing your first Bachelor's degree
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress while at the UW
- to apply, submit your FAFSA/WASFA before Jan 15th

Scholarship for Unpaid Interns

- Selected students will work with a career coach to secure an unpaid internship for next summer and will receive $3,000 upon completion of their internship experience. The application is open to students of all citizenship statuses and will prioritize students who demonstrate financial need.

Undergraduate Grants
- Information on different types of available grants: Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Grants, Washington College Grants, Tuition Exempt & University Grants, Tuition Reduction for Children and Surviving Spouses of Law Enforcement Officers & Fire Fighters and Highway Workers, Tuition Reduction for Wrongly Convicted Persons and Their Children, Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program, and Food Security.
Work Study
- If you qualify for Work Study through demonstrated financial need (FAFSA), you can be hired under Work Study jobs (subsidized under the Work Study Program). More info about eligibility and applications in the website linked above.
